Haven Music Lessons offers in-home music lessons to students throughout the Greater Boston area. Read through some of our most frequently asked questions below. Get in touch if you have additional questions, or are ready to enroll in lessons with one of our amazing instructors!

Each half hour lesson costs $75, no matter where you live, what instrument you play or how advanced you are in your studies. On average, monthly tuition is $300, but that can fluctuate based on how many lesson days you have in any given month.
Some students prefer to have longer lessons. In those cases, the following rates apply: 45-minute lessons are $105; 60-minute lessons are $135. We offer discounts for families with more than one member enrolled in lessons!

We currently offer piano, voice, violin, viola, cello and guitar lessons. If you’re interested in studying another instrument, please let us know! We’re always searching for new instructors and would love to find the perfect fit for you.

Our teachers are local musicians and teachers. All of them have university degrees in education or music performance. We contract with instructors who are experts at their instruments and have a passion for sharing their knowledge with others.
Each instructor undergoes a rigorous background check and is required to be up to date with all CDC recommended vaccines. You can read more about our instructors and our vetting process here.

In your registration form, you’ll answer questions about skill level, learning goals, age, etc. We’ll use this information and your scheduling preferences to select an instructor for you. All of our instructors are carefully chosen to ensure a positive experience for our students, but we understand if someone’s teaching isn’t your style. If you’d like to switch instructors, just email us! We’ll take care of the communication with your instructor and schedule you with someone else. There are no fees or penalties associated with this.

We allow our instructors to use whichever teaching curriculum they prefer. We trust them to adapt to your needs and help you reach your goals! Once you've been matched with a teacher, they will be in touch to let you know which books and additional materials (if any) you will need to purchase.

Yes! Our students have the opportunity to participate in a formal annual recital in May and regular volunteer performances in the community throughout the year. You can read more about these performance opportunities here.
