Haven employs some really special musicians. Each of our instructors:

has at least five years of teaching experience before being hired by Haven Music Lessons.

has or is working on a graduate degree in the instrument they teach or music pedagogy. Sometimes, they’ve studied both!

is someone our founder (Jacqueline, a Cambridge parent!) would be thrilled to have in her home, teaching her own children.

Jacqueline started Haven with the goal of providing a simple, stress-free way for Cambridge parents to give their children a high quality, joyful music education. Jacqueline comes from an educational background of business, child development, and music. She coupled that experience with her experience raising children in Cambridge and created what she believes to be the best music education option for busy families in Cambridge, Massachusetts. 

Jacqueline lives in Cambridge with her husband and their 3 children. They currently live near Danehy Park and spend most of their time at the playgrounds closest to them. In a dream world, they’ll find a cute little house to grow old in on a quiet side street near Porter Square.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Each half hour lesson costs $75, no matter where you live, what instrument you play or how advanced you are in your studies. On average, monthly tuition is $300, but that can fluctuate based on how many lesson days you have in any given month. For more information about our pricing and value, click here.

  • Our teachers are local musicians and teachers. All of them have university degrees in education or music performance. Each instructor undergoes a rigorous background check and is required to be up to date with all CDC recommended vaccines. You can read more about our instructors and our vetting process here.

  • We currently offer piano, voice, violin and guitar lessons.

    We are actively hiring instructors so we can continue to expand our offerings. What would you like to learn next?

  • Yes! Our students have the opportunity to participate in a formal annual recital and regular volunteer performances in the community. You can read more about these performance opportunities here.

  • Payments can be made with credit card or checking account on our website. Our payment system is powered by PayPal and is 100% secure. For your convenience, we also offer the option to automate your payments! You can find more information on that here.

  • We allow our instructors to use whichever teaching curriculum they prefer. We trust them to adapt to your needs and help you reach your goals! Once you've been matched with a teacher, they will be in touch to let you know which books and additional materials (if any) you will need to purchase.
